Just say No; to anxiety and worry

Today let’s look at a passage of scripture that I’m sure we’ve all read before, but have never really meditated on. I’m going to show it to you in many different translations so you can see it. Try reading them out loud. Let your ears hear the Word. As we all know faith comes by hearing. That doesn’t just apply when the preacher is preaching on Sunday’s. This applies whenever we hear the Word of God.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6 KJV)

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. (Philippians 4:6 AMP)

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6 NLT)

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. (Philippians 4:6 MSG)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6 NIV)

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6 WEB)

Philippians 4:6
For nothing, be anxious, but, in everything, by your prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let, your petitions, be made known unto God; (Rotherham)

Did you read them out loud? I hope you did. Go back and read them again. Did you see the instructions given to us to do instead of worrying? 3 instructions were given. Have you ever paid attention to that before? The bible is full of instructions that if we would slow down long enough to follow we would see the manifestation of the things we hope for.

The scripture says by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let out requests be known to God.

Prayer by definition means :a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God

Petition by definition means: make or present a formal request to (an authority) with respect to a particular cause.

As you can see prayer and petition are two very different things. Jerry Savelle has written a very good book called “The Prayer of Petition” it is wonderful. Not only does he explain it so that the reader will understand but he gives examples of Prayers of Petition that he and his wife have used throughout the years. This book has helped me and my husband write out our own prayers of petitions for things that we are believing God for. Something’s have been answered and we received the manifestation of and something’s we are still waiting for.

But let’s not forget the third instruction- Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving by definition means :the expression of gratitude, esp. to God

How awesome is that? A complete recipe for what to do instead of worrying and getting anxious.

If we look at the next two verses it tells you what will happen if we follow the instructions in verse 6.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 KJV)

You want the peace of God? Follow the instructions. And instead of thinking about the problem, situation or circumstance do the following.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8 KJV)

The enemy has custom designed the challenges of this world to steal our peace. Don’t give it to him. he (I meant to use a lower case h to show you how insignificant he is) can’t take your peace you, me, we have to give it to him.
Remember yesterday, we talked about being strong and courageous. Today we have found a recipe on how to actually do it. There is such a wealth of wisdom in Philippians 4. Take some time out and read the whole chapter. (Out loud) faith will come. And so will peace.

Blessings fam,
Enjoy your day

Let’s live courageous

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them:for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Joshua 1:6
Be strong and of a good courage:

Joshua 1:7
Only be thou strong and very courageous,

Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

2 Chronicles 32:7
Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed

2 Chronicles 32:8
With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Matthew 14:27
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Acts 4:13
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

1 Corinthians 16:13
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

We are children of the Most High God. And He’s not a weak Father. He’s given us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness. We were not designed to cower in situations and circumstances. We have to many examples that were written for our benefit.

We were created to live in The Blessing. We tolerate to much. We deal with to much.
Right now,
1 John 4:17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:because as he is, so are we in this world.

Obviously, Jesus knew that things would come at us that would cause our knees to knock a little bit. So He said over and over, BE NOT AFRAID!!!

I don’t say this as if its easy. So many days I’m like, Okay!!! Inhale/exhale. But then I begin to remember every time I ever needed my God ; He has always had my back… This summer was one of a bunch of firsts for me. I stepped into a pool for the very first time. I walked into the ocean and
stood as wave after wave came at me. Finally I turned my back in high ocean water waves coming and just stood. I had to get out of my boat. What’s your boat?

Everything He has told me to do was above me. I had to get past me. Writing to you everyday was a faith challenge. I’ve always hidden in my writing, you see He’s said take it public.

Has He ever let you down? NO!!!! And He never will. Do it nervous but DO IT….

Crazy Faith

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]. (2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP)

I made up in my mind today to “hang” my faith on this scripture. I’m determined. I’m clinging to that scripture. I’m in training. You see I have my faith out on assignment for some really amazing things right now. I’ve taken this scripture as mine. I’m beginning to take it daily. Keeping it before my eyes. Speaking it out of my mouth. (Meditation)

During this time I’ve found out that I’ve had to become single minded on The Word of God.

James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

James 1:7
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

James 1:8
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

When believing God you have to look to His word. And realize that everybody may not be able to put their faith out for what you’re believing God for. It may be even close family members. Or people you were sure would get it. But just know that God Himself is with you.
And you will never be put to shame. If you find yourself meeting opposition with what you’re believing for…today… Right now… STOP!!!!! talking to the people who are speaking doubt and unbelief about it.

Shut your mouth to them and find someone you can come in agreement with. If you can’t find anyone ; I come into agreement with you right now in Jesus name. It will happen. It will come to pass. You will see it. It shall come forth. Don’t faint. Don’t give up. You are not alone.

Joshua 1:7
Only be thou strong and very courageous,

Continue to grow in God’s word.

New Mercy

I’m so glad that every morning when I wake up their is a fresh supply of God’s mercy. How awesome is that? I mean come on, Great Grace!!! Our Heavenly Father is so awesome. Every 24 hours ; He supplies us with everything we need.

I don’t know about you but that settles me down and allows me to just rest comfortably in Him. No situation or circumstance can shake me. The mountains that would try and cause me trouble I no longer try to climb, I speak to them and command them to move. Every day is not easy breezy but it is doable. Because we are not alone. We must remember that. He promised to never leave nor forsake us.

Lamentations 3:22
It is of the Lord ‘s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Lamentations 3:23
They are new every morning:great is thy faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:24
The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

So today what ever you went through yesterday, just know that when you woke up this morning their was new mercy waiting on you. Lock in on it. Receive it and cooperate with it. Everything is going to be better than ok!!!!

I am not ashamed

The enemy will embarrass you but My God will cause me not to be ashamed.

Psalms 25:2
O my God, I trust in thee:let me not be ashamed,
let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Psalms 25:3
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed:
let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

2 Timothy 1:8
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner:but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Isaiah 54:4
Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed:
neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame:
for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth,
and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

New heart

Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. ( KJV)

A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26 AMP)

This morning I’m so glad that I can now trust my heart. Before I was born again I could not.
Everyday I can see myself transforming before my eyes. Only God can bend a man without breaking His spirit.

He is teaching me how to love. His way. Not the way of the world. He’s teaching me compassion. He taught me how to forgive by forgiving me. Now I to forgive. I hold nothing against any man. I simply released them, him and her and let it ALL go. That was all His doing. I could never do that within myself.

This day I’m free. And my heart is new!!!!

The Word confirmed

This morning I’m up reading in Psalms. I’m reading it all the way through, this is something I’ve never done before.

In doing this I’m about to take off running around my neighborhood. I can see how God confirms His word. I’m reading how He spoke it afar off because it is written in Psalms but the bible that I read from has cross references which takes you to where it is also written in The New Testament.

Holy Spirit is showing me that you can’t just read from one or the other( Old Testament vs New Testament)you must read from both because reading from just one and not the other gives you only half of the picture. My God!!! I used to wonder why the Bible just seemed repetitious? Now I know why, God confirms His word to us.

I can see the New covenant in the Old Testament. I can see Jesus in the Old Testament.
This is why I no longer just read the Bible I study and ask Holy Spirit to breathe on what I’m reading.

Lets take a look at an example….

Psalm 33:6
By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth. [Heb. 11:3; II Pet. 3:5.] (AMP)

Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.( KJV)

2 Peter 3:5
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: (KJV)

Do you see how in Psalm 33:6 the writer gave a foreshadow of what is also written in Hebrews 11:3 and 11 Peter 3:5 ?

The Word of God is full of all types of yummy goodness. And by no means am I a Bible scholar. I’m just a believer who loves and places a high value on what My Father has to say to me. I take His word literally. It’s not some book of fiction stories. To me they are my reality. I can now see and understand better that I’m not under the curse I am fully under grace. And so are you if you can receive it? Selah

Missed Miracles

Matthew 14:13
When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart:and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

Matthew 14:14
And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Matthew 14:15
And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

Matthew 14:16
But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

Matthew 14:17
And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

Matthew 14:18
He said, Bring them hither to me.

Matthew 14:19
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Matthew 14:20
And they did all eat, and were filled:and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

Matthew 14:21
And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

I was reading the miracle of Jesus feeding the 5,000. And I was amazed at how the disciples missed it. How could they? I mean they walked with Him. They talked with Him. They ate with Him. They were in His secret circle. They were close to Him. They were chosen by Him to be His disciples. I mean they were hand picked by Jesus Himself.
How did they miss this miracle?

Mark 6:52
For they considered not the miracle of the loaves:for their heart was hardened.

Aha, so Mark lets us know that their hearts had become hardened. So is it possible today that we have done the same thing? We are praying, praying, praying!!!! Asking God for this and for that. Wondering why we are not seeing miracles. Could it be that we have over looked the simple miracles? In search of those big Jesus walking on the water miracles.

Jesus is still in the miracle business. He is working miracles everyday. I submit to you today that if we would simply pay attention to the everyday miracles we will begin to see those water walking miracles.

Hebrews 4:9
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Hebrews 4:10
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

I didn’t receive breakthrough in my life until I stopped working. I stopped striving. I just let God be God in my life.
When I simply stopped and simply received what He has already done ; miracles became a reality in my life. I’m walking in miracles everyday.

Today you can do the same thing!!! I’m not anyone special. What He has done for me is available
to you today!!
Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
