There’s a shift

There is a shift that has taken place in the atmosphere. An urgency that I can’t quite explain. I feel it. I sense it. God is up to something HUGE.

Blessings are on the way. Prayers that you’ve prayed. Things that have been held up. It’s being released.

Everything is about to start happening at an accelerated pace. Look for it. Expect it.

Luke 21:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Genesis 45:27
And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them:and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:

A place called rest

So many of us today are sweating to get and do what God wants to do for us.
Striving, struggling and stressin’
That’s not Gods best!
We are trying to figure out how we’re going to make this happen, how we’re going to make that happen.
Having thoughts like,if I put this like that I’ll get these results. We’re running in circles, not being efficient nor effective.
We say we trust God, but really we don’t. If we did we would be at rest!
I can hear some of you now, “Yeah but”,how about you get your but out of the way.

1 Corinthians 1:30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, ( are you in Christ Jesus)who of God is made unto us wisdom,

Jesus has been made unto us WISDOM which means we can lean into Him and pull out wisdom, and that wisdom will teach us how to be efficient, creative, and effective in every area of our lives.

(I have to interject something right here, I thank God for my pastor Dr. Creflo Dollar for teaching this to our church my life has forever been changed by this).

1 Corinthians 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

We literally have the mind of Christ. My question to you is, so why aren’t we living like it?
My answer: We have not renewed our minds in this area.

Matthew 14:13-21

13 When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns.
14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

18 “Bring them here to me,” he said.
19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.
20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.

We’ve all either read or heard about Jesus feeding the multitude. But we all missed something very important which is:
Verse 19- Jesus had the people to sit down. Sitting down is symbolic of rest. The people had to rest before they could receive this miracle from Jesus.

Which means dear heart, some miracles you are going to have to sit down for. At some point you are gonna have to rest. We are worn out physically and mentally. But now God is calling His children to rest.

Hebrews 4:9
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Hebrews 4:10
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

Hebrews 4:11
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Merriam Webster’s online dictionary defines labor as:expenditure of physical or mental effort especially when difficult or compulsory.

The bible here compares our works to get it done with unbelief. Have you ever known that? I know I didn’t before I read this.

All I’m really trying to say to you is that all it takes is one idea from God, believed and acted upon to change our entire situation. What we’ve been trying to for months or even years God can bring about in an instant.

Holy Spirit

So often the Holy Spirit is forgotten or even over looked. When in fact He is a valuable third person of the trinity. You may ask is it scriptural for me to refer to the Holy Spirit as a He, lets examine some scripture references so that we can be clear.

Who-
Rom. 8:11, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.”

He-
John 14:26, “These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

Himself-
Rom. 8:16, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”
Rom. 8:26, “And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words”

Ok; so now that we’ve established that Holy Spirit is not Casper the friendly ghost, we can look further into scripture and see that He will talk to us and give instructions.

He Speaks-
2 Sam. 23:2, “The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me; his word was on my tongue.”

Acts 8:29, “And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this chariot.”

Acts 10:19, “And while Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you.”

Acts 11:12, “And the Spirit told me to go with them without misgivings. And these six brethren also went with me, and we entered the man’s house.”

Acts 13:2, “And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Are you beginning to sense a theme here? We can’t overlook the personage of Holy Spirit. We must become sensitive to His voice, and His leading us. I’ve come to know Holy Spirit as my teacher. He has taught me how to be a wife to my husband. Speaking intimacies to me that helped me open up to and relate to him better. He is now teaching me how to be a daughter, sister, auntie, friend and mother.
Holy Spirit is my helper. He has helped me overcome difficult challenges that once held me captive.
Holy Spirit leads me.He guides me. He directs my path. When I don’t know what to wear, He has even helped me put outfits together. Yes, He’s into the intimate details.
Often He speaks not directly to me but through my husband. If you’re wondering if this in fact scriptural let me prove it to you so that we won’t have any discrepancies.

Acts 28:25-26, “And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, saying, ‘Go to this people and say, “You will keep on hearing, but will not understand.”

There are some activities of the Holy Spirit-
He Teaches-
John 14:26, “These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
Luke 12:12, “for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

He Intercedes-
Rom. 8:26, “And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;”

He Leads-
Matt. 4:1, “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”

He Gives life-
John 6:63, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.”

Filled by
Acts 2:4, “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.”

So you see, we are not alone. We have Holy Spirit waiting to lead, guide, instruct and yes comfort us. Sit with Him. Invite Him in. Literally say, Holy Spirit you are welcomed in this place.
In the morning the first person I speak to is Holy Spirit. I always say, “Good morning Holy Spirit”
And before I go to sleep, “Good night Holy Spirit” Acknowledging Him. He’s my friend. And our relationship is growing and developing. I encourage you to meet Him today. There is so much more to Holy Spirit but I wanted to introduce Him to those of you who may not know Him.
Some are more developed in their knowledge of Holy Spirit but others are like me, I had to become acquainted with Him.

Knowledge is power

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:

satan wants us dumb. I know that’s a strong statement but its true. he hates wisdom in the life of a Christian.
#getWisdom

he doesn’t mind us jumping, screaming, hooping, hollering and running all over the church.
But he can’t stand when we sit down somewhere and learn the word of God. he doesn’t even really mind when we get born again as long as we remain ignorant and ineffective.

We are dangerous when we have knowledge and even more so when we have understanding. There is power released to us when we have the knowledge of God’s word operating in our lives. There is supernatural assistance available to us when we have the understanding of that word activated in our lives.

Have you ever noticed how the enemy will fight you on reading the word? You sit down to read it and can’t concentrate. Can’t focus. The phone will ring. Children start acting up. The dog will have to go out. Or you get sleepy. Etc. etc. etc.

That is spiritual warfare. In those moments when you recognize it, stop and bind the strong man!!!
When we take down the strong man all the others will flee. So often we start with the lesser and the strong man is left operating. So we continue fighting. Getting worn out. Cut the head off and the body will die.( I don’t have time to get into that at this moment, I’ll have to come back to this in another blog post)

Mark 3:27
No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

Matthew 12:29
Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.

It’s crucial that we begin to do this step. Because as we get into the word of God we enter into the presence of God. When we are in His presence we are hidden. The enemy can’t locate us or trace us. Also in His presence we are made whole. Healing and deliverance begin to manifest in the life of a believer who has been in the presence of Almighty God. Not only deliverance, healing and restoration for you but for your whole house.

The enemy can’t afford to have whole Christians. That would bring down his kingdom. So he fights to keep us broken, sick, weak, tired, worn out and defeated. But the devil is a lie.

I pray now that a spark be lit in you so that you’ll begin to crave the word of God! I pray now that you will begin to hunger and thirst after Him. I pray now that the atmosphere around you will shift and that the fire of God would fall bringing with it a new appetite for all things God. In Jesus name.

There is a lost and dying world that’s waiting on us, the body, to bring preach Jesus. But first we’ve got to KNOW Him ourselves. It’s time to believe the BIBLE. It’s time to operate and function on the level to which we were created.

Romans 8:19
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Romans 8:22
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Stay ready

Yesterday I received some bad news. Today I’ve had a lot on my mind. As I sit here writing to you everything is rushing to the forefront of my mind. But in spite of it all; my days are good even when bad situations happen.

God is still God. He is still higher than anything. I refuse to speak anything other than good news. You may ask why am I sharing this with you, simply because I want you to know that life happens every day to each and every one of us. And you have to make a quality decision, is God still going to be on the throne when bad news comes your way? Or will you dethrone Him and put situations and circumstances in His place?

Trouble is going to come. Jesus told us that we would have trouble.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. (John 16:33 NIV)

So its not if it’s going to come, it’s when is it going to get here? But, don’t get discouraged be of good cheer. Learn to trouble your trouble as my pastor says.

I could walk you through a laundry list of what I’ve done during this time but in essence none of it matters. I’m not getting me through this. The ten steps of what I’ve done are not going to amount to anything. The truth is, Jesus is the difference maker. Holy Spirit is my comforter and God is and will always be God.

Wrap yourself with the word of God when you don’t need it , so when you do need it, you’ll already have an ample supply of it built up in your arsenal. When trouble comes its to late to get ready. Stay prepared.

And know that it is well.

“ But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NIV)

Through Christ I can

During a shopping trip to the mall my husband and I went into a department store, in order for me to get to the section I needed meant I would have to use an escalator. I have for some reason always been terrified of them. I mean I’ve always avoided using them at all costs. I’ll take the stairs or an elevator if available. But lately I’ve made up in my mind to no longer tolerate fear. (Fear, phobias, etc.) I got fed up with the enemy stealing from me; time, moments, experiences. I wanted my life back. I want to experience everything that God has for me. Merely existing wasn’t good enough anymore. I wanted to live life to the fullest.

The bible says fear is a spirit which means it hangs out with a bunch of other demonic friends. And it opens portals that give satan entry into our lives. Some people think a little fear is harmless or that some fears are healthy. But fear doesn’t come from God so how can any form of it be good?

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Anyway before I get off on a tangent let me focus, I walked up to the escalator and just stood there. My heart began to race and my palms got sweaty. I looked down trying to time my step. When Holy Spirit brought to mind Philippians 4:13-I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I began to confess it out loud. My husband looked at me and asked what I was doing. I told him, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” I told him I was getting strength.
I know I probably looked crazy to anyone who may have been watching or passing by. Did I care? Absolutely not. Before I knew it my foot moved and I was going up and I was looking down at where I had stood moments before in fear.

My heart was overjoyed when I stepped off. I had a breakthrough. I was so happy. God had given me victory in an area that for so paralyzed me. I know to some this may seem small but to me, I slew a giant. This was a huge confidence booster.

We went to the department that I was looking for. Walked around looking through racks not finding what I was shopping for. Eventually I found what I needed it and it was time to go. In order to get back I had to go down the escalator. My husband went before me, when I went to step I hesitated. Oh no not again.
Immediately I began to confess :I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. satan you will not steal the word of God from me. I will not allow it. I took a step,
I was now on the escalator going down. My palms weren’t sweaty. My heart wasn’t racing. I was now someone who overcomes. This year has been a year of firsts for me. I’m amazed at how much God loves me. I’m doing things that I’ve never done or ever think I would do.

Life is worth living. And thriving is way better than merely surviving.

Disobedience costs

Moses’s disobedience costs him the promised land. After all that he had been through, after all that he overcame one act of unbelief caused him to lose it all. He walked with God. He was close to God. I mean He was a carrier of the presence of God. He got to the finish line and dropped the ball.

Numbers 20:6
And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces:and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them.

Numbers 20:7
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

Numbers 20:8
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock:so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

Numbers 20:9
And Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him.

Numbers 20:10
And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

Numbers 20:11
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice:and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

Numbers 20:12
And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

I mean what Moses did seemed to be a small infraction, right?
Not to God. At the point where He was to trust God, he didn’t.
Moses problem wasn’t that he misinterpreted God or thought that since he’d hit the rock before that it was okay to do it again. Rather, Moses was utterly rejecting God and trying to take control.

Moses totally failed to trust God for the life-supplying water. He tried to take matters into his own hands. He was supposed the be the leader, but also the servant of God.

I have a question how many of us today are hitting a rock God told us to speak to?

Daily loaded with benefits

Good morning everybody. As I was praying Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance that we are daily loaded with benefits. Did you know that? As a born again believer we are daily loaded with benefits?

Psalms 68:19
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

This is a promise that we need to take on for our life everyday.
The word load means: to supply abundantly, lavishly or excessively, to fill.
The word Benefit means: something that is good, beneficial and advantageous, an act of kindness, improvement, reward.
God is not in the business of only blessing us a little bit, his desire is to bless us abundantly.

It’s like belonging to this exclusive club and getting to enjoy the perks and privileges just because you’re a member. How absolutely awesome is that? I don’t know about you but that gets my expectation up, my excitement level increases dramatically. Each day when I arise I’m met with new benefits for that day. Dude, come on get excited! Our lives are not hum drum. We have a loving Father who gives to us freely as much as we will receive.

David cautions us not to forget our benefits.
Psalms 103:2-Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

That means that it’s possible for us to forget what they are. If we forget what they are we don’t walk in them. They have been made available to us we’re just not partaking in them. As a believers we need to know and have no doubt in our heart that our Father wants to load us up with benefits on a “daily” basis. If we don’t that’s like having money in the bank but not making a withdrawal. The money’s there but it’s not doing you any good. Lets take a look at what some of our benefits are.

Psalms 103:3
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;who healeth all thy diseases;

Psalms 103:4
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Psalms 103:5
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things;so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

I could take off running right now. Just in those few verses alone there is everything that we could ask or think. We have forgiveness, healing, redemption, loving kindness and tender mercies( that’s plural),satisfaction, and renewal. My God! My God! My God! If I sound excited, it’s because I am. I’ve found my benefits package as a believer. It’s like starting a new job and when you go through orientation they go over your new employee benefits package. Somehow as believers when we went to the alter( or wherever your received Jesus) no one ever went over our benefits. So we are for a better word, ignorant, to them.

No longer are we going to believe the lies of the devil and many religious opinions that go around, that God is out to get us and make us as miserable as can be and that the more sick, poor and sad you are the more holy you are. The devil is a lie!!!!
That is not what I read in my bible. In fact it’s biblical at all.

God’s word says that He is loading upon us on a daily basis all His benefits. That’s the word of The Lord.
The word also says that He is able to do exceeding, abundantly, above all that we could ask or think according to the power that is working in us.

Philippians 4:19- My God shall provide all that I need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.
Those promises are for you, go ahead and receive them in Jesus name.
The devil has done a job at making misery, poverty and sickness go hand in hand with God, and that is just a bold face lie.

I want you to believe that for this day, this week and this year that you will make yourself available for the benefits of God to be loaded upon your life.
May you believe it, meditate on it, confess it and appropriate it over you life in Jesus name.
Amen.

It is written

In the wilderness Jesus defeated satan by using three words. “It is written”
I found it interesting that the bible here refers to satan as the tempter. That’s the weapon that he used against Jesus at that time. Temptation. he’s still using that same weapon against us today.
satan came to tempt Jesus while He was weak ,but how did Jesus respond?
By giving satan the Word of God.
During Jesus’s time of temptation satan had the nerve to use the word of God against the word Himself.
(John 1:14 KJV)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

With every temptation Jesus response was the word of God. Isn’t it funny today that when the tempter comes to us, we want to give him everything but the word of God?
Isn’t it funny how we want to be Christians today without the word of God? Isn’t it funny how we want to be successful and walk in everything God promised but we want it all without His word?
satan knows the word and we think we can go through this life without knowing it.
Matthew 4:6
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down:for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee:and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

This is what Jesus said:
Matthew 4:7
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Matthew 4:10
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan:for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

The tempter is still coming. Through situations and circumstances.
he will come to you, what will you say when he comes?
My mortgage is due-It is written:
Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Bad report from the doctor-It is written:
Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions,he was bruised for our iniquities:the chastisement of our peace was upon him;and with his stripes we are healed.

Children acting crazy-It is written:
(Isaiah 54:13 AMP)
And all your children shall be disciples [taught by the Lord and obedient to His will], and great shall be the peace and undisturbed composure of your children.

Threatened miscarriage-It is written:
None shall lose her young by miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. (Exodus 23:26 AMP)

Barren- It is written:
Deuteronomy 7:14
Thou shalt be blessed above all people:there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

We have an answer and that answer is: It is written!!!!
Jesus stood on the word and this is was satans response
Matthew 4:11
Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

If we stand on the word and continue to stand on it the devil will leave us alone too.
Ephesians 6:13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Consequences

Good morning dear ones,
As I was watching this video for a course that I’m taking for the month of November, the word consequences jumped out at me.

By now some of you know me, I love to know what words means; I looked up the word and here’s what it means:
2 : something produced by a cause or necessarily following from a set of conditions

I had to take a step back. Because I realized that their were things that I had gone through and am still going through that were consequences of decisions that I made. God had not brought these things to my door step- I had. For me that was a breath taking revelation. You may need an example of what I’m talking about.

Ok here’s one- I made a purchase on my credit card. When the bill was due I did something else with the money. When the next bill came, I did the same thing. By the time the next bill was due I had accumulated late fees and penalties that I didn’t want to pay so guess what, I didn’t. How stupid is that? I had the money. I could have paid the whole balance off. I chose not to pay the money that I owed. Dumb! Dumb! And dumb again!

Consequence: My creditors turned my delinquent account over to the credit bureau which in turn negatively effected my credit score. Which gave me higher interest rates on things as simple as my car insurance. In the process of buying a home my husband was not able to put me on the mortgage loan because my credit score was lowering his over all score. My income could not be counted which lowered the amount of money we qualified for.
( That hurt I was so disappointed in myself) My lack of character at that time hurt my husband not in his feelings but in our future.

Don’t get me wrong I no longer have the mentality that I had over 10 years ago but negative reports on my credit stayed on for seven years at a time. Today I have rebuilt my credit but the residue of past mistakes have left me having to clean up what I did when I was dumb.

You see the decisions you make today will follow you into your tomorrow. You have to go back and clean that stuff up. Sometimes we wonder why the manifestation of some prayers take so long, God is not a genie. This is not magic. He has to go back and repair the damage that we have caused. Before you make a decision; first think; will this hurt me or someone I love when I see it again. Because trust me, you will see the choice you make again. Whether negative or positive.

I say none of these things to bring sin conscienceness or condemnation on you. My goal is to share my experiences with you so you don’t repeat my mistakes. Some people don’t tell the truth of why we go through things that we go through. So often we blame it on God. Sometimes we blame it on the devil. Well sometimes it’s just us.

Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked:for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Galatians 6:8
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
