Through Christ I can

During a shopping trip to the mall my husband and I went into a department store, in order for me to get to the section I needed meant I would have to use an escalator. I have for some reason always been terrified of them. I mean I’ve always avoided using them at all costs. I’ll take the stairs or an elevator if available. But lately I’ve made up in my mind to no longer tolerate fear. (Fear, phobias, etc.) I got fed up with the enemy stealing from me; time, moments, experiences. I wanted my life back. I want to experience everything that God has for me. Merely existing wasn’t good enough anymore. I wanted to live life to the fullest.

The bible says fear is a spirit which means it hangs out with a bunch of other demonic friends. And it opens portals that give satan entry into our lives. Some people think a little fear is harmless or that some fears are healthy. But fear doesn’t come from God so how can any form of it be good?

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Anyway before I get off on a tangent let me focus, I walked up to the escalator and just stood there. My heart began to race and my palms got sweaty. I looked down trying to time my step. When Holy Spirit brought to mind Philippians 4:13-I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I began to confess it out loud. My husband looked at me and asked what I was doing. I told him, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” I told him I was getting strength.
I know I probably looked crazy to anyone who may have been watching or passing by. Did I care? Absolutely not. Before I knew it my foot moved and I was going up and I was looking down at where I had stood moments before in fear.

My heart was overjoyed when I stepped off. I had a breakthrough. I was so happy. God had given me victory in an area that for so paralyzed me. I know to some this may seem small but to me, I slew a giant. This was a huge confidence booster.

We went to the department that I was looking for. Walked around looking through racks not finding what I was shopping for. Eventually I found what I needed it and it was time to go. In order to get back I had to go down the escalator. My husband went before me, when I went to step I hesitated. Oh no not again.
Immediately I began to confess :I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. satan you will not steal the word of God from me. I will not allow it. I took a step,
I was now on the escalator going down. My palms weren’t sweaty. My heart wasn’t racing. I was now someone who overcomes. This year has been a year of firsts for me. I’m amazed at how much God loves me. I’m doing things that I’ve never done or ever think I would do.

Life is worth living. And thriving is way better than merely surviving.

Let’s live courageous

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them:for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Joshua 1:6
Be strong and of a good courage:

Joshua 1:7
Only be thou strong and very courageous,

Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

2 Chronicles 32:7
Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed

2 Chronicles 32:8
With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Matthew 14:27
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Acts 4:13
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

1 Corinthians 16:13
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

We are children of the Most High God. And He’s not a weak Father. He’s given us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness. We were not designed to cower in situations and circumstances. We have to many examples that were written for our benefit.

We were created to live in The Blessing. We tolerate to much. We deal with to much.
Right now,
1 John 4:17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:because as he is, so are we in this world.

Obviously, Jesus knew that things would come at us that would cause our knees to knock a little bit. So He said over and over, BE NOT AFRAID!!!

I don’t say this as if its easy. So many days I’m like, Okay!!! Inhale/exhale. But then I begin to remember every time I ever needed my God ; He has always had my back… This summer was one of a bunch of firsts for me. I stepped into a pool for the very first time. I walked into the ocean and
stood as wave after wave came at me. Finally I turned my back in high ocean water waves coming and just stood. I had to get out of my boat. What’s your boat?

Everything He has told me to do was above me. I had to get past me. Writing to you everyday was a faith challenge. I’ve always hidden in my writing, you see He’s said take it public.

Has He ever let you down? NO!!!! And He never will. Do it nervous but DO IT….

Lets live like we’re free

Romans 6:1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

My question is a hard one! My question will cause the flesh to be offended!
If we are truly saved how is it that we want to sin? Once we come to Jesus and are truly born again we begin to realize the amazing sacrifice that He did for us. I’m not talking about coming to the alter and just repeating a prayer. No, I’m talking about true repentance.

Wouldn’t that cause us to turn our backs on sin for good? How are we still struggling with sin? How are we still wanting to sin? Or did we just come to the alter to get fire insurance , so we want go to hell but really have no intentions on changing the way we live.

I mean in the natural when we fall in love we no longer want to hurt the person we fell in love with. We’ll do anything not to hurt them. We’ll do anything not to break their heart. At all cost we protect them. We no longer have the desire to cheat? We no longer have the desire for another person. How much more should that be with our relationship to Jesus Christ?

I don’t want to hurt Him. I don’t want to embarrass Him. I don’t want to do anything that would cause a problem in our relationship. I don’t want to make Him look bad. How many times have you seen someone who said they were a Christian but there behavior said they were the spawn of satan himself. Did it turn you off from ever wanting to be a Christian? For years it did for me. I wanted nothing to do with Jesus because of counterfeit Christians, that took and stole Christ’s identity but did not model His character.

Romans 6:2
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Paul says, God forbid. How can we being dead to sin live in it any longer.

Romans 6:3
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

In Jesus as born again believers a death should have taken place.

Romans 6:6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Romans 6:7
For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Romans 6:8
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Romans 6:9
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Jesus is not going to keep being crucified over and over again every time we sin. He died once and for all time. When He died He nailed our sin to the cross.

Romans 6:10
For in that he died, he died unto sin once:but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Romans 6:11
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Today a death needs to take place. Today we need to die to sin once and for all.
We preach Christ but live like The World but yet wonder why we aren’t leading more people to salvation. There should be a difference in the way we live. We should lift up a standard.

Romans 6:12
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

That word reign means to rule. Paul says let not sin rule your mortal body, that you should obey the lusts thereof.
When we were born again our spirit was born again. Not our flesh. Our flesh fights against the things of God.

That’s why I fast, to make my flesh submit and obey me. Some people fast to get God to do something that He’s already done. When I fast I deny my flesh. I talk to it. Oh so you want to struggle with that and I told you we were letting it go. Ok, so I’m not going to feed you for 24 hours. We are going to get in The Word of God. We are going to pray.

Romans 6:13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

In other words Paul is saying, don’t give into the pressure of sin. But yet surrender yourselves unto God.

Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you:for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Once we surrender ourselves to God sin has no authority over us. Once we get this we will no longer try to prostitute grace. Running, dipping, slipping and doing all kinds of foolishness because we think we can run to God and say, Father forgive me.

Yes, He will forgive you but sin has natural consequences. Sin will destroy your life. Sin will destroy your relationships. Sin will open the door to the enemy and cause him to be able to operate in your life. Does sin feel good? Absolutely. When you’re in it- it is wonderful at least it was for me.

Hebrews 11:25
makes reference to enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season;

But once that season is up, you have to pay the piper. The enemy is coming to collect. And his payments are just to high.

I don’t know what you maybe struggling with today but whatever it is you can take it before God and ask Him to show you how to deal with it. Because you can’t deal with it alone. He will give you the grace to deal with it and get rid of it. He is waiting on you today because He wants you to have His best. Today is the day of your deliverance.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world:but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Word of God is what transforms the mind. We have to change the way we think.
I know when God delivered me out of some strongholds I had in my life, their were some relationships that I had to give up. Their were places I used to go that I could no longer go to. He walked me through it. It wasn’t easy but it was doable. He never left me alone.
He’s faithful. And He loves you.

There is a dying world out their waiting on us to get ourselves together. Lets make them want the God we say we know!!! How can we pray for someone else when we are still running to the altar ourselves?

Grace Revealed

Romans 3:27
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay:but by the law of faith.

There is a such thing as “The Law of Faith”

Romans 4:5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

God never told me to work for my righteousness. Abraham is my example of this.
Abraham simply believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.

Romans 4:3
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

At the point Abraham made up in his mind to believe God ; that decision changed his position with God.
God said, “you’re righteous” Not because of anything that you’ve done but simply because “you believed me” His faith in God changed his status with God.
My God! That’s powerful. God just wants us to believe Him. To trust Him.
Now who did Abraham believe?” but believeth on him? Him who? God!!!!
He believed God!!!
And the next part of that verse says, ” He believed in God who justifies the ungodly.
Abraham simply believed in God, who says you don’t have to work for it. You don’t have to sweat for it. You don’t have to labor for it. Just simply believe me!!!! And He did all this for an ungodly man.

After Abraham’s status was upgraded, God didn’t speak to Him about his sin.

And then David in the office of a prophet seeing into the future wrote about a generation that would be blessed because God would impute righteousness.
That word impute means to credit to a person. So David spoke of a generation of people who would be blessed because God would credit to them righteousness without works!!!

Romans 4:6
Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

Romans 4:7
Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Wait a minute!! Did you see that? Blessed is the man, whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered! What!!!! So that means iniquities and sin are two distinctly different things.
I had to know the difference and here is what I learned:
Iniquity-gross immorality or injustice, wickedness
Sin-an offense against religious or moral law

I asked God if my iniquities are forgiven and my sins are forgiven then why am I always talking to you about them? Why am I continually asking you to forgive me for something
that you’ve already taken care of and forgiven me for?

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
This tells me if I confess my sin you are faithful and just to forgive me.
So am I understanding this to mean that I just come to you and confess my sin, thank you that I’m already forgiven; I’m simply to receive your forgiveness .

It felt like Holy Spirit breathed on me. It’s like I could see God smile.

Romans 4:8
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
Remember the word impute means to: credit to a person.
That means that God does not credit sin to me. I’m born again!!! I’m a believer!!! When I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior my slate was wiped clean. My sin debt was PAID IN FULL!!! At Calvary God poured out all His wrath on the body of Jesus so that I can stand RIGHTEOUS. He turned His back on His only Son for me!!!!

I have a better covenant! With better promises!
Hebrews 8:6
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Hebrews 8:8
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

I’m in the house!!!!!!!

Hebrews 8:9
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

The Israelites made a choice. They chose to be judged by their works!!! Not by the goodness of God. Not by His grace. They turned their backs on God’s best for them!!!
At that point, He stepped back from them and handled them by their own wishes. Through the Law!!!!
They removed the intimacy they had with God.

Exodus 19:8
And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord.

I have a new covenant with God!!! Under this new covenant God said that He would be merciful to my unrighteousness; my sins and iniquities He would remember know more!!!

Hebrews 8:12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

My part of that covenant is just to BELIEVE it!!!! Believe that He has been merciful
to my unrighteousness and my sins and iniquities He remembers NO more !!!!

He’s not going to bless me according to what I do or don’t do. He’s just going to bless me because He’s good!!!!
That’s His mercy!!! That’s His grace !!!!! That’s The Gospel of Jesus Christ !!!!

He will remain faithful to me regardless of my unfaithfulness to Him.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
It is a faithful saying:For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him:if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful:he cannot deny himself.

HALLELUJAH!!! My God!!!!
I don’t want to sin. I don’t want to do the things I used to do. I don’t want to go the places I used to go. He’s been to good to me. He’s done to much for me.
He’s my savior and I LOVE HIM!!!! I chose His best for me.

Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you:for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Jesus did to much for me to. He was the only sacrifice. I will never again return to bondage.

Holy Spirit is my teacher. He leads me. He guides me. He directs my path.
Even if its not written in the bible He will speak to my heart and tell me how to live!!!
