This blog came out of a conversation that I had with my husband today. We were sitting around talking as we often do. As we were talking Holy Spirit showed up and got involved in our conversation. Let me pause to say: I LOVE THAT! We gave Him an open invitation in our home. He’s always welcome. Anyway, He began to speak to us about our “Authority as Believers”
He gave this example: My husband when he was younger had power of attorney over his grandfather. Which meant that he could act as his grandfathers representative, people would see my husband physically but he was acting on the behalf of his grandfather. His grandfather did not have to present during these times. He had been given legal authority to use his grandfathers name. (Paying bills, going to the bank; withdrawing money/depositing money.) At the end of whatever business transaction he would sign it in his grandfathers name. Not his own.
That’s what Jesus did for us. We have the legal right to use the name of Jesus and when we do the enemy see’s Jesus not us!
The enemy has no power over us. None! Zip! Zero!
When we stand in faith and say, “satan I rebuke you, In the name and authority of Jesus Christ” We use our authority. We exercise our authority. Jesus, Himself backs up our words. Heaven backs us. Angels go to work to bring that word to pass.
We as born again believers are not defeated. But, you have to know it. You have to believe it. Is the enemy in your finances? Is he in your marriage? Your job? Your children? Is he active in any area of your life? If so he is out of order. It is unlawful and illegal.
Do you understand what I am saying to you? Use your authority. You have power of attorney.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy:and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
