Question

If Holy Spirit is The Great Teacher, and He is, what have we learned this year?

John 14:26

2014 is rapidly coming to a close, we are right on the heels of a New Year. We have spent almost 365 days with the Holy Spirit, what have we learned? How have we grown? What goals have we accomplished?

You see, if He is The Teacher that means we must yield to becoming students and either learn something new that we haven’t previously known or have a refresher course in things we have known but let slip and we no longer put into practice.

This morning as I was going about my day Holy Spirit began to speak with me. (How cool is that, He is present with us in our day)

God deals with me alot in the area of the renewed mind. Tearing down strong holds that have held me captive, most I had no idea were even there.

Personally I have to admit that I have learned many invaluable lessons. Honestly I feel as if I’ve been in Holy Spirit Boot Camp if you will.

We as the Body of Christ cannot afford to remain scripturally illiterate. There are many things that are about to take place that will require us to live from within. By that I mean we are children of the Supernatural, we must begin to live from the inside out.

Colossians 1:27

We have got to spend time in The Word of God. That can be challenging ; the world around us is constantly pulling & tugging vying for our attention. But, we have to choose God as our priority. We have got to get the wisdom of God and begin to operate within the Kingdom.

We must become Kingdom of God minded.

Kingdom of God-God’s way of doing things.

We cannot afford to remain the same. God is ever growing and increasing. That means we must stretch and not become lazy and complacent.

Stretching is uncomfortable and it has a purpose.

Stretching-the result is a feeling of increased muscle control, flexibility and range of motion. The more we stretch the greater our range of motion and our flexibility. It increases our capacity to receive.

Example: You can’t put 10pds of sugar in a 5pd bag. It will not fit. You will have sugar spilling out all over the place.

I hope that analogy works for you? Because God cannot put 2015 revelations into a 2009 mindset. It’s time to come up higher.

Hosea 4:6

satan is against Godly wisdom. he does not want us learning and maturing in the things of God. he thrives off of our ignorance and laziness. he wants the church ignorant, sick and broke.

The saying, “The Battlefield Is In The Mind” is not just some cute cliche’. It is truth.

We are tri-part beings. We are spirits who have a soul and live in a body. Our minds-house our souls. That’s our thinker, feeler and chooser. We must prosper in our souls. Our thoughts form our words, our words in turn frame the world we see around us.

3 John 1:2

In order for our results to change we have to change our minds. Our thought processes. How we send & receive information.

Romans 12:2

We accomplish this by spending time in God’s word and allowing Holy Spirit to teach us. He’s pretty cool to hang out with. He has a funny sense of humor too. Get to know Him, I promise you; you’ll never regret it. Life gets so much easier. It doesn’t have to be hard. We don’t have to get all the bumps and bruises.

It’s all about relationship. Do you share personal information with people you are not intimate with? Neither does God. Think about it.

Until next time,

May the peace of God and the sweet communion of the Holy Spirit guard your hearts and minds.

Shalom my friends

What Does It Mean To Be Saved?

Before I was born again I would always hear people say that they were “Saved”.
I always wondered what that meant.

“Saved”, from what? From who? It never really made any sense to me.

When I would ask I always received the same answer.

They would always refer to the part of salvation that saves one from going to hell. So I gathered that “saved” was saved from going to hell. But, that only sparked more questions. Hell? Why would I go to hell?
I remember learning that the only reason you go to hell is for rejecting Jesus Christ.

I wanted to know how to be saved.

I was asked three questions:
1. Do you believe that Jesus is The Son of God? (Yes)
2. Do you believe that Jesus died on The Cross ?(Yes)
3. Do you believe that He rose from the dead? (Yes)

After I answered these questions I was led in what is called The Sinner’s Prayer.
I repeated this prayer with a sincere heart. I was so happy. I was now “saved” .

For years I had no clue of all my being saved included. I’m so excited sitting here writing this to you I could do back flips. I’m really trying to calm myself down 🙂

Why am I so excited? Because when I signed for my salvation package I received way more than “Fire Insurance” (My Not going to hell policy). I received at that moment all of what salvation included.

Are you ready to have your wig twisted? LOL

Salvation comes from the Greek & Hebrew words Soteria and Sozo.

Soteria & Sozo are the same word-one is the verb & the other is the noun form (in case you decide to research for yourself).

Greek-sótéria
Part of Speech: Noun
Phonetic Spelling: (so-tay-ree’-ah)
Definition: welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation, safety

Greek-sózó
Part of Speech: Verb
Phonetic Spelling: (sode’-zo)
I save, heal, preserve, rescue

sṓzō (from sōs, “safe, rescued”) – properly, deliver out of danger and into safety; used principally of God rescuing believers from the penalty and power of sin – and into His provisions (safety).

Definition given from The Strong’s Greek Concordance

As I look at the definitions I believe that we have had more of an understanding of sozo as it pertains to rescued from the penalty and power of sin but we have not understood soteria deliverance, safety, preservation, healing, soundness and wholeness.

Salvation is the great inclusive word of the gospel. It gathers into itself all the redemptive acts and processes as:

Justification-the act of pronouncing righteous

Redemption-to buy,to release by paying a ransom price, to redeem

Grace-To be in favor with, unmerited favor

Sanctification- separation to God

Glorification-to magnify, extol, praise

Propitiation-Through the “propitiation” sacrifice of Christ, he who believes upon Him is by God’s own act delivered from justly deserved wrath, and comes under the covenant of grace.

Imputation-“to reckon, take into account,” or, metaphorically, “to put down to a person’s account,

Forgiveness-denotes “a dismissal, release” ; it is used of the remission of sins, and translated “forgiveness”

Gospel-“the good news” itself.

Definitions taken from The Vine’s Expository Dictionary

Whew I’m excited just talking about this. As I meditate The Word of God something new and wonderful is happening in my life. And the same is going to happen for you.

So now when we hear someone say, “I’m saved”, we should hear them saying, “I am delivered, I am safe, I am preserved, I am healed, I am sound, I am whole”.

Because we said Yes to Jesus we got all of what Salvation included.

I wish I could take the time here to go into greater depth on that. Maybe I’ll write the book (wink)

And that salvation is a FREE gift (because we didn’t do anything to deserve it) that came by Grace (God did us a FAVOR) through Faith (It takes faith to receive) in Jesus Christ.

Every time that we confess our salvation to someone we are in fact saying, “I confess, that I am delivered, I am safe, I am preserved, I am healed, I am sound, I am whole.”

Salvation = The Work Of The Cross, The Finished Works of Jesus Christ

My God! My God! My God! Hallelujah!!!!

This is the Good News!!!! The Gospel of Grace!!! The Gospel of Christ!!!!

Are you saved?
Would you like to be? It’s the greatest decision you will EVER make in your life.

If you do not know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, simply pray the following prayer in faith, and Jesus will be your Lord!

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).
I am calling on You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10: “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” I do that now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.

I am now reborn! I am a Christian—a child of Almighty God! I am saved! You also said in Your Word, “If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: HOW MUCH MORE shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke 11:13). I’m also asking You to fill me with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, rise up within me as I praise God. I fully expect to speak with other tongues as You give me the utterance (Acts 2:4). In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

You are now saved and have signed for the package. I with all of heaven now rejoice with you. Welcome my brother! Welcome my sister!
